Old Bay roasted head of cauliflower

The cauliflower and chicken were roasted in Old Bay.

Dedicated to my friends who are meat-free.

Although there is chicken in the meal

This is n’t a meat-free meal, but it could be. I had the chicken in the fridge and needed to eat it.

A nicely cooked head of cauliflower is ensured if you cook it in a heavy casserole at a moderate heat.

A bit of cauliflower.

  1. Remove the leaves from the cauliflower stem.
  2. Melt some butter with microwave radiation or in a saucepan with conventional heating methods.
  3. The Old Bay seasoning and dried herbs should be put into the melted butter.
  4. Rub the butter over the head of cauliflower.
  5. Season with iodised salt and black pepper.
  6. Place the head of cauliflower into the casserole and cover it with baking paper.
  7. Place the casserole into a pre-heated oven at 180C for 75 minutes.
  8. The cauliflower is soft and tender.

  9. Place the cauliflower onto a plate and spoon over juices from the casserole.

Chicken bit.

  1. This is from a piece of chicken I cooked last week.
  2. Season a piece of skinless chicken thigh fillet with iodised salt.
  3. There is a vacuum seal in a plastic bag.
  4. Cook at 76C for 2 hours.
  5. Place the cooked chicken into the refrigerator to chill.

  7. Pat the chicken meat dry with a kitchen towel.
  8. Take the chicken and slice it into thin slices.

The salad portion.

  1. Cut the cos lettuce leaves into thin shreds.
  2. Cut the silver beet or chard leaves into thin shreds.
  3. Place the lettuce and silver beet leaves into a mixing bowl with some crushed peanuts, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds.
  4. When you mix mayonnaise, American mustard, and tomato sauce, all the green leaves will be coated in the sauces.

  1. Place cauliflower on a plate.

  2. Add the salad next to the cauliflower.
  3. Place the slices of chicken on top of the salad.

I will eat it cold for lunch. I hope it tastes good. I did not add any garlic. I do n’t want my work mates hurt.

I know it is an odd combination but I think I need more fibre in my body.
